Review
Pours dark with an almost reddish hue and white head.
The aromas are very rich with coffee and chocolate at the fore and with deep roasted malt tones as you would expect.
Very smooth in mouth. The taste is very similar to the smell, with the coffee and chocolate flavours being the most pronounced. There is also a sense of a ‘toasted wholemeal bread’ kind of flavour too.
The finish is bitter and deep.
Overall a very decent dark ale.
TIP: Nice with cheese on toast or Welsh rarebit!
